Your Story
- A preparation questionnaire will be sent in advance to collect basic information and generate potential question ideas.
- An in-person interview at the person’s home will go about an hour. Find a place that is comfortable to sit! The setup will include a camera, microphone and lighting.
- Questions will be selected in advance with input from the interviewee. The final list will be sent in advance so the person can prepare responses.
- Spontaneous follow-up questions will be asked depending on the answers.
- The final video will be 15-30 minutes long. (Much of this depends on how talkative the person is. Every effort is made to create a video that meets your expectations.)
- Up to 15 family pictures will be edited into the video.*
- A draft version of the video will be sent for final review before the final version is sent.
- After final approval, a USB Drive or digital file will be provided.
Total Price: $750
*Pictures should be in digital format and selected ahead of time. If scanning is required, there is an additional $25 fee. In the end, you’ll receive digital copies of scanned images when your video is ready.
Your Story: Recording Only
Just want a video recording? No editing involved? I will conduct and record the interview, do some basic touch-ups to make sure audio is crisp and the video is clean. You’ll then get a USB or digital file.

Your Story: Multiple People
Want to record a couple? Perhaps both parents at once?
This can be done, but pricing depends on your vision. If you’re looking for two separate videos, there is a discount for recording two stories at the same location.
You may also just want one video of your parents together, talking less about their individual history and more about their shared past. This pricing would be similar to the main package above.
Your Story: Additional Options
- In addition to the edited piece, receive a 2 minute video highlighting a specific part of the interview, with images: $50
- Receive complete raw footage of the interview in addition to the edited piece: $20
- Add an additional 10 images into the recording: $25
